Behind the bar: Sentinel
Sentinel is a 1.3% superfat hot-process bar. The first several batches are inspired by the pine trees in my back yard, which are a Shortleaf Pine (*Pinus echinata*) variant.
The first batch began with me harvesting the pine sap from a tree that fell when a big storm came through. I spent many days literally scraping pine sap and collecting drips that came off the bark. I also decided to add the needles as an exfoliant as an experiment with this bar. (This recipe is subject to change.)
