Behind the bar: Resolve

Resolve is a hot-process bar with 6% superfat. Originally commissioned by a training partner in MMA, who told me some of the benefits of tea tree, and it being one of his favorite smells. It reminds me of something crisp, clean, and spa-like — despite its origin being from a person and a place that challenges me, and leaves me exasperated. Its name is a symbol of my passion for the martial art Brazilian Jiu-jitsu, and the dedication to training.

The recipe

Grass-fed rendered beef tallow — 450 g Organic olive oil — 370 g Organic raw shea butter — 120 g Organic coconut oil — 80 g

Lye solution

Distilled water (H₂O) — 300.79 g Sodium hydroxide (NaOH) — 134.51 g

Essential oils

Organic tea tree — 20 g Organic peppermint — 17 g
